« on: September 27, 2014, 10:32:44 am »
It's a grown up Corolla. It looks very similar accept  when you see from the inside. gone is the oblong modem dash for more tradition dash.

No replies to this post?! LOL.

To be fair, I always think of the Camry as a comfortable highway cruiser.  This particular iteration doesn't look good to me.  I doubt a Camry's target audience likes the over-styled design.  Also, how come the Audi-like grilles have permeated across the industry?  Most people like these grilles?

I mean...to be fair, this isn't the most vanilla car in the segment anymore. The Sonata, Legacy and 200 are at the top of the most vanilla cars you can get...at least in my opinion.

No, none of those are visually or spiritually enticing....but neither is the Camry. The Legacy at least has an awesome AWD system going for it and the 200 looks the best, but overall, a big yawn.....saying that, seems that midsize car buyers love that about them.

sales numbers show that boring is what people want... reviews say the mazda6 is the best.. no one buys it... car enthusiasts say the legacy is a great awd machine... it lags way behind in sales.

other than the 6, all of the midsized cars could be mistaken for each other from non-enthusiasts. we forget, the midsized car is built to be a jack of all trades.. to be one of those, it has to make compromises on style and performance at every corner to remain in the right price range.

this is not an overly pretty car.. and they chose the sportiest trim and brightest colour. show us this in the beige colour and not an xse, but an le and i'm sure no one will oooh and awww... and THAT is what will sell.

I can't wait to see this trend over with.

looks like they're really stretched out the back window making the trunk look short.

the shape (aside from front grill) is starting to look like:

the 6 doesn't sell because the brand doesn't have a lot of reach and some people don't even know what Mazda is...Honda took a step forward with the Accord and made it the best selling car in the US for the past few months, Toyota reported several times that the best selling Camry was the Sport model and finally the top 3 best selling cars will look sport...Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Ford Fusion. Can you see a trend here?

How come I'm not seeing it on the Toyota.ca website. Is it not sold in Canada yet?

i bet the people who buy them will even mix them up in the parking lot.. and what is funnier, they won't even care or understand they aren't the same.

Both Ford and Toyota are very slow to post new vehicles to their websites. In the US you can build a Ford F150 - but not in Canada....same goes with the Camry. They are probably trying to define pricing for the Canadian market.

I admit that I have trouble telling a 3 and 6 apart these days from the rear quarter.
