I test drove the current gen RAV4 against my RAV4. This is what I noticed:
Interior: way better. Nicer materials, well laid out. A little bit more quieter on the inside (my RAV4 is loud at highway speeds).
Drive: steering felt a little light. The brakes needed to be pressed harder than my RAV4 to get similar results.
Overall, with the typical Toyota reliability, it is an average SUV. However, it should be noted that at the time I made my decision, it was between RAV4 and the Subaru Forester. I found the Forester to be the better vehicle but family vetoed it. Now, since I have more authority on the decision, if I had a choice between the current gen RAV4 and Forester, I would go Forester.
