I think it is a very safe revision.

I had to put that part in bold.  Because truth.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I know I don't hate the retro stuff as much as you do, but the Mustang is getting silly with it. 3 generations of retro Mustang now? Are they really that devoid of ideas and inspiration at Ford nowadays?

Then again, doesn't look like the Chevy guys are reaching much either, if this artist concept is to be believed.

I said that when the first one came out..on the heels of the retro T-Bird.

I was cool with that one. They were having some fun with vintage design cues.  And the T-Bird was neat as a low production car. I was even ok with the 2009 revision of the Mustang, because I understood it was just a revision to the earlier vehicle, and not a through redesign. But to bring out a completely new model and still use the same basic design is extremely disappointing. I bet most folks won't see much difference from the 2005 to the 2015.

Again, with the Camaro going to the VERY nice Alpha platform, and coming in decidedly smaller and lighter, I really expected something more from the Mustang.

You can only tell when they are side by side, as the newer one looks smaller.

That is sad.

I do like the lip on the rear end of the new one, and there are some other nice details too. But it could have been so much more.

ZOMFG IT"S SOO RETRO!! WTF!!!I CAN"T TELL THEM APART!!!!! :stfu:

It's got a few touches from the past, but it's hardly retro at this point. Neither is it German or Asian, which I think is what some people have a problem with.

I don't think anyone said that....It just lacks in creative design.

Who has done a radical design with a mainstream car lately?

Doesn't need to look "radical".  But modern is nice.

Certainly look modern to me.

Possibly not to the ever so jaded foreign car cognoscenti.

I don't think this looks radical.  At all.  Modern and stylish?  Absolutely.

Yup, I liked that. But as with most show cars, they didn't do it. GM did it with the Camaro, and Dodge with the Viper, but most get watered down for production, cost or safety reasons.

Well the new Stang look nothing like this.  I probably would have been happy even with a watered down version.  Sadly, the thought retro was the way to continue.

Still a weak sauce, uninspiring design though.

They should let the Cadillac guys do a clean sheet Camaro....And they can just steal the tail lights from the Vette!   ;D

Umm... That's not a Ford Mustang concept. That's literally an Aston Martin DBS with a Ford grille photoshopped on. It even says DBS on the seats  :rofl2:

Honestly, I like the 2015 Mustang 100000000x better than this ^^.  I actually hate that.
