For price of this, I could get another Hino 308, a real work truck.
But this is a work / play truck

Or much more likely, a play truck that looks like it could work if the owner wasn't afraid of getting it scratched.

Owner operator would have this for his own truck, I do not worry about scratches

I have a question about the high idle switch.  What would you use if for on this truck? ???

To keep the temp up at idle in the cold and to keep the alternator spooled up to feed extra accessories fed at idle.

Watching the Denver Seattle game and GM has a TV chimerical showing a new GMC truck driving around airport runways and taxiways? Seriously?... where is the dirt, mud, rocks, and rough roads? FFS. Major fail

those are the RAM commercials.

the GM and RAM trucks did seem to do well in the twist test...the Ford, not so much.

My only complaint with the truck are the severely lacking headlights — in the dark on a rainy night I felt I may as well close my eyes as the headlights were not helping much at all.

Is that more an industry wide standard , I find our Prius is crap on low ,and even the truck has low beam cut off

Wing, it can be yours forever in 84 easy payments, or 168 biweeklies  ;D

Seriously, why can't we get such amazing mpg figures in real family non-truck vehicles?!? Is it the engineering, or the more relaxed truck emissions standards at play here?

I doubt it, diesel trucks are some of the most plugged up vehicles on the market. If you ditch all the enviro stuff and get a power programmer you can see huge gains in economy and power.

I'm in the market for a 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup and the 2015 Sierra 2500HD is at the top of my list, but $88k for a truck is (for me) ridiculous.
I went online this morning and priced out a Sierra 2500HD SLE, with all the options I would need, and ended up with a $66,960 total, after the cash credit.  I'm sure that number could be reduced even more, with some haggling.  Heated/cooled leather seats would be nice, but I can do with heated cloth buckets.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing.

My Dad just bought a 15 Denali 2500 just like the truck in the review. In Alberta he was quoted $77,000 out the door. He chose to shop across the boarder. Got it for about $68,000 after all the taxes/GST.

That's an impressive discount.
Can you tell me who he dealt with (US dealer or broker)?  I'd like to look into this for my purchase.
If you don't want to post the info online could you PM me?
Thanks.

77 in alberta probably means about 73-4 in ontario... with no effect on warranty. just pulling numbers out of my head from past deals i've done with out of province guys on trucks, so not official by any means...

might be worth it, might not... alberta has such high demand for trucks, especially gm's, that they never seem to get much discount yet still sell boatloads.

Canadian or US dollars?
Trucks are so hot in Alberta that discounts are not needed to move them.

I'm surprised your dad was able to buy a new GM truck in the US.  I've read that GM does not allow its US dealers to sell new vehicles to Canadians.
