That's what I worked out to be when I am in Niagara, NY.  Not sure I could do over 800km in a Corolla in one day.  My a$$ would really hurt. I don't have any padding.
Funny you say that - with my 28 year old arthritic back, the Corolla is fine over long distances, but I can't sit in a Mazda for more than 5 mins without being in pain.  Those seats are too densely padded.

Best cruising seats, honestly, are made by Chrysler or GM.  (I know, hypocrisy just d!ck slapped me)

Guess it depends a lot on height and weight.  The leather seats on Mazdas usually bolster on the sides, which suit me well.  I would imagine the firmer European seats would be good as well. But I can't comment from experience, longest European car I was in was a Volvo S60, only for a couple hours.

Finally, I bought some gas (20.9L) because I drove 600 kM this long week-end... (20.4kWh = 2 recharges + 23L / 603 kM)

50,636 (Sept 1) - 46,474 (June 27) = 4,162 kM since my last fill-up.

Gas attendant put in premium even though I told him regular...

Cost me 60 bucks for 48 liters.

But they gave me 2 car washes for their mistake .

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Agreed GM and Chrysler know how to make a comfortable long haul seat.

I think different people prefer different seats but it may be unrealistic to expect customized seat cushioning levels in under $30k cars. One major reason I had to get rid of my 08 Corolla was that my thighs would get numb, while my 91 Corolla and 99 Sienna were fantastic. I can drive my Mazdas for hours and hours with no discomfort either while I've had problems within 30 minutes of driving in a '10 Honda Civic, '12 Chevrolet Orlando, and '10 Mitsubishi Outlander.

Usually twice a week. With juggling press cars that always have to go back 100% full, there's often a $10-20 top-up involved. We filled up a V8 Camaro this morning and between home and rush hour, the needle dropped ever-so-slightly before getting to GM, so I had to drop an extra $16 into it. Same deal with an Audi TT-S I dropped off last night.

Mondays (in this week's case, Tuesday) feel good though since the testers come full of gas - it usually takes me until Fri-Sat to run out before I need to visit the station.

Where do you live that you can buy Premium for $1.24/L?

uh... miscalculated.  it was ~43 liters, or approx.   1.34 or 1.36/L...

Been driving my Smart ED since November 2013.
In 10 months of driving, I have not bought gas once (obviously).
That is >5000km of driving, with average usage of less than 18kWh/100km (including winter).
So that is 900kWh of electricity, at $0.12/kWh total of $108.

I'm not sure anyone here could beat that.
$108 to drive 5000 km.

My wife buys gas for the GLK every week, and even when I drive it for weekend trips with the family, she fills it up Friday before the weekend.  I just don't want to visit gas stations.

We spent $1700 on gas this past year to drive 10,000km in the GLK.  Crazy!!

Usually like 2-3 times a week. Between commuting to work and whatever extra running around I spend about $500-600 per month :( Depressing it is...

Sorry to hear that.  Have you costed out a Tesla?  At $600 per month in fuel, you'd save $500 and then need another $350 for the car payment...

No :censor:....I am in a similar boat. I average 50-55K a year, 90% of that is commuting, often in ridiculously heavy traffic and/or ungodly hours of the morning. Young and trying to push forward my career...so I'm dealing with it, but I absolutely cannot do this forever.

Been there...I bought a house in Guelph Ontario and commuted to downtown Toronto for work for 5 years, about 150km round trip in heavy traffic.
I put 40,000km per year on my Ford Contour (180hp 5 speed manual) and hit 260,000 km before the engine blew.

I worked out the math and decided to move closer to work, the mortgage payment increase was about even with the costs of fuel, maintenance and externalities (like missing much of my kids early years).

My 30km commute has changed my life, and I am not joking.

Wishing you well.

Yes!  Me too!  Haven't ever owned a gas lawn tool of any kind, and I have almost a half acre of grass to mow!  At least the electric is lighter to push.

Yeah, but it doesn't self propel... ;D

Yeah, but it doesn't self propel... ;D

I had a self propelled electric cordless mower and eventually sold it to get the much lighter electric with a cord.

It's a bit more to push it, but my lawn is all over the map in terms of topology and twists/turns, nothing like the standard square flat lawn.

Like my cars, I like my lawn mowers light and easy to maneuver.   ;)
