the Sonata looks OK in this pic:

I was thinking the same thing...so long as we don't all now turn around on the Subaru Legacy thread and say "that Legacy looks like the Sonata."

yea, i'm not a fan of new interior either.

fortunately, the Kia Optima still looks good...i know it is pretty much mono colour, but it still looks nice.

Without the screen it looks like a 2000 Saab interior. Not good.

"the fake zebra wood trim is a little too Palm Springs for my taste"

Any faux wood in a car is very terrible looking.  What is the affliction with having this ugly add-on in cars for anyway?

I love Palm springs and the wood doesn't remind me of it at all.

This reminds me of Palm Springs:

I like the quilted seats and door panels.  Nice touch.  Could use some relief from the unrelenting black, though.

Kinda surprised that the Sonata interior wasn't anywhere near the wholesale improvement that the Genesis interior was.  I know it's not a ground-up remake like the Genesis, but still, seems a rare backwards step to me.

Things I don't like:

Interior - Particularly the puke-worthy fake wood.

Exterior - too generic. Even the Camry is more stylish now.

Engine - now way I would give up that much hp to improve already impressive low end response.

Things I like: suspension improvements.

Exterior - too generic. Even the Camry is more stylish now.

the Kia's interior is outdated and a more tentative copy-cat of the A4 one...look:

The Kia dash looks more like that old Saab than that lovely A4. All that black plastic and those big ugly vents...

i can certainly see the similarity to the A4...but a Kia that looks similar to an A4 is a bad thing how?

and no oldsguy, the Kia does not resemble that old Saab...i'm sure that Saab was "competitive" in its time, but to claim the Kia looks like a 15 year old Saab inside is ridiculous.

The only thing that is actually similar to the A4 is the fact that the nav screen is mounted up high. Everything else - steering wheel, vent placement and design, shifter, HVAC/audio controls - is quite different, IMO.

The Kia interior looks terrific.

Looks like a lot of people on here need this: http://www.yellowpages.ca/search/si/1/Optometrists/Toronto+ON

I guess Herr Schreyer does interiors too.
