15 minutes in a 964 Carerra 4

Met a friend for lunch today and he brought his "new" 1992 964-4.  We traded cars for part of our drive away, and I realized that this was my first time in a 964.  Really?  Yup.  Wow.  His first Miata drive too.

I like it.  Still a very raw air cooled 911 experience, with an "old fashioned" interior and lots of mechanical noises, etc.  Pretty decent power, less than the older Turbo, but very nice delivery.  The "power assist" steering is VERY nice, super responsive with great road feel at speed, but enough assist for parking.  Old school long throw shifter and floor loader pedal brought back memories.

Now I'd like a 964 Turbo.

Very cool, Johngenx. I've always wanted to give one of these a whirl. How did the AWD system feel? Very intrusive or fairly seamless?

It's RWD bias, and I didn't notice it at all.
