Zoom Zoom!  Looks great and let me add my voice to those who already said they liked the wheels.  Mazda has nice wheels on their cars.  They definitely work hard on making them work with the rest of the design.  If you're shopping in the aftermarket for wheels for the other 3 seasons (as you said) and keeping these for the winter months, you at least have several months to find the perfect match.

Great looking car.  Who needs new?  Pfft!

Mazda RX-8 R3 wheels. <3 19x8, weighing in at about 20 lb 3 oz. Highly sought after wheels. Looks good, performs even better.

Seriously. Nice. Wheels.

I'm really a fan of the organic look of these wheels, or most (not all) of the other Mazda wheels. In comparison, I'm not a fan of the flat machined wheels with the black or anodized/brushed aluminum face Toyota and Kia are going for these days.

Anyway, going off topic. lol.

The wheels suit this car very well, but not so much when I tried putting them on my old Mazda 5. It's like the design language clashed. Got me thinking that there is a LOT of though that goes into the design of these OE wheels these days.

I like the wheels a lot.  However, when I buy winter tires, I'll put them on these wheels and buy new wheels for the three-season tires.

Boss as Railton would say!  Can't stand seeing steelies.... I have always liked the orange, it's not for everybody.  But I miss it from my Mazda6...

Agreed, don't do it winky...get some reasonable wheels for the winter rubber.

I'm already scoping out Tire Rack for wheels.

Congrats again. Noticed it has heated seats. If you haven't had heated seats before, your going to love them in the winter.

I can't get over how new it looks inside and out. You are one savvy shopper.

You can also keep an eye out on Kijiji for OE wheels of you like or aftermarket's with the bolt pattern and offsets.  Those wheels are fairly heavy and may affect acceleration, braking and handling performance.

Really?  That's crazy!  I run 18x8.5 up front and 18x9.5 out back on my Z and they weigh 17 lbs and 18lbs respectively.

They don't typically design OE wheels for lightweightness and performance. Aftermarket wheels can be lighter.

My Mazda 3 Skyactiv stock 16" wheels weigh 19lb.

And I think the 1st gen Toyota Matrix with the 17" wheels takes the crazy trophy... 26 lb. I had them on my Corolla, they were HEAVY.

Nice looking car, and sounds like a great deal.  Was fun following along the process when I could.

I had already gone on Tire Rack and picked the 8 or so best wheels...but since you were going to use these for winters, I picked mostly 18's because they just look better...then I put the pics in a folder and figured you probably didn't need my help.  But I can't wait to watch what you buy!   ;)

Any suggestions are welcome.  I'm sticking with 17s, though.

Alteratively, if you wanted to keep you stock wheels for winter, Protege5 16" wheels can be had for cheap and are really light.  They also look half decent.

I just looked it up,  they're 16 lbs.
