That was one thing I do not like about the Ford, the top of the box is the same height as my shoulders
Makes it hard to lift tools into the side compartments of a truck cap

Agree.

My buddy and I were having this discussion yesterday. He just bought an 03 1/2 GMC 4x4 to haul around his bike and to have as a winter vehicle. Parked besides my wifes 2014 F150 it looks like a toy truck. The 03 is easy to get in and out of and the loading height is perfect. I dont know why they have started making these bloody things so huge.
Lighten up Francis.....

for what it's worth:
the Taco is with the 6tf box and the D3 is with the small boxes (5.5ft)

Lengths (in)
Taco 221.3
F-150 231.8
GMC 230
RAM 229

Width
Taco 74.6
F-150 79.2
GMC 80
RAM 79.4

Height
Taco 70.1
F-150 75.9

how much bigger has the D3 gotten?

well here's a 2000 Ford F-150
