$70,000 for a pick up? This is one crazy world... always saw pickups as utility vehicles...

Oh well, I only buy 3 -5 year used vehicles.. the rest of you can go and throw away your money... the day of debt reckoning isn't far off...

I'm with you. To me pick ups are vehicles for work and rough stuff. A while ago I had a Dodge pick up and it was used to haul crap to the dump, motorcycle parts, reno materials, and so on. I was often filthy when I was in it. I want something that I won't be afraid to scratch.

just in the process of selling one even more optioned up... 72 msrp... (or was that american?.. whatever).

the rebates people.. don't forget those. 8500 off the top, about another 4-5 grand to keep em honest and if you have a truck know, an added 1500 after tax discount. so this one i'm selling is like 57 grand...

for a limo that can pull your boat.

not bad really.

not sure why this really got posted... no changes from 14-15 really.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

i agree, but what if my utility truck is the only ride I've got and I want it to be plush and comfy and have all the same toys those sports utility vehicles have?

a pickup is almost certain in our future but I don't just want it for the utility.
I want a decent rig to be in.  (not just $70K worth of rig  ;))

My previous 4 new pickups were all fully optioned affairs. I used them as daily drivers and for recreation. Since we stopped RVing I switched to driving cars day-to-day and my current pickup is a lightly optioned work truck which has worked out fabulously. We have no qualms abusing the truck off road or hauling building materials or any other utilitarian function. It was cheap, performs as expected and I don' have to worry about bashing around an expensive truck. Well, we don't really bash it around per se, it's in great shape but I don't treat it the same as the Berlin taxi.

Point being, owning a basic truck for utility purposes is a nice low stress luxury.

Someone picks up a new Ram in Lindsay drives home in Ottawa , 316 km and get 7.8l/100km  :o

Achieved 7.8L/100km on the way home last night (all highway 7), fresh out of the box in slushy conditions ... I was pleasantly shocked !
