however the article at the end does say:

That must be a new DSG.  The original 7 speed DSG ( never seen in NA) could not even cope with the GTI's 2.0T.

The nearest you can get here now would be an Audi Q5 TDI    240 bhp and 428 lb/ft   9 l/100 city and 6.4 highway.  Not as big inside as a Passat wagon either.  But is is a proper Quattro tho'

This car is pretty nice.  Don't think it will be sold here tho.  Right now for diesel, you have the sportwagen starting at $31 000 and after that the first AWD diesel is at $48 000 with the GLK & Q5.  maybe their is a Benz or BMW car between but I don't think so......big gap.   Hopefully some of the Japanese will put some on the market.

good potentials for the diesel gap around the $35-40 mark would be: CX5, Tiguan

Even the Cherokee or journey if they would take that I-4 3.0l diesel that is supposed to be in the promaster.

I saw a black one 2 weeks ago in Gatineau...quite the rare vehicle.
