Well, didn't seem to affect anything. But I did find that the filter was pretty nasty looking, thought it was supposed to be changed during the Service A about 2k ago...

Well, something is definitely busted. Set the temp this morning to 25 and the fan instantly went to 4/7.

Drove down to work, getting really toasty in the car, and the fan is still at 4/7, 40 minutes later...

I wonder what kind of trade value I'll get.

The only thing I can think of to replace it with, as a family runabout, is an Accord.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I'd be in the Acura dealer lighting the place up until that was taken care of....Too many repeat issues at this point to remain passive IMO.

Just got off the phone with Acura Customer Relations again (headoffice) - much displeasure was voiced but they're holding firm to the "you gotta let them diagnose" line.

No, not a troll question
On some system with speed up and slowed the fan speed to the demand on the system
If you want heat, but the system does not have enough heat , it will keep the fan in low speed until there enough heat

Ok, sorry.

And yes its on auto. Even when the car is warm the fan speed is too low. Its got nice warm air already just not enough of it unless you manually crank up the fan speed.

You Should find out  if you can have the factory setting change so it produce a higher fan speed , which would make you more comfortable

Surprised it wasn't the filter.  Almost exact symptoms I had took filter out, woot.  Got new one.

That's not the issue though - never used to behave like this.

If I set it to 25 deg its stuck on 4/7 fan speed even if the interior gets super hot.

The system is not responding to changes in internal temperature.

I'm confused - you're saying the filter was so clogged it was restricting airflow?

Page 21-10 has instructions on how to run the self-diagnostic on the climate control unit. Might help...
