I would have bought it if I was working, I just have the Canon Rebel T1i, with 2 others lenses, one being the telephoto. Need the wide angle, and another flash. Not in a hurry though...
Honestly, on your camera (and mine), the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 gets you more bang for your buck, if you're after wide. The crop factor was a hindrance with this 17-40mm. I always found it lacking, but it's my camera's fault, not the lens. I also had good results with the Sigma 10-22mm when I went to Europe (borrowed from a friend). Of course, nothing matches Canon's L glass, but I've still got my 24-105mm L for that. It rarely comes off my camera anymore.
Kid who bought it has a full-frame 6D, and we walked around for a bit so he could test it. He was absolutely thrilled.
