How is the now huge brutish wrangler much better?  I could argue it's strayed just as far from the original jeep, it looks like a bloated cartoon of the original, just like the new FJ.

Actually i like that it's small, like the sidekick or old rav4, when old; perfect island hopper or kayaking 4x4.....
now if they can load it to med-high, and list it at $14999, they'll have a good one.

agree... if the nameplate could sell the compass and patriot for the last 7 years due to brand image... this, combined with some actual good features should be decent.

i'd probably agree with you actually.. in most trims too.

but i bet there is at least one or two sweet spots in the renegades line-up that will either trump on price or some other ability...

while i do dislike the watering down of the jeep name, i also recognize that this could be a huge vehicle for chrysler worldwide... and while not for for some (many possibly), it will be an alright little machine and do wonders for the company... and as a guy who likes things to be different, at least they tried to make it stand out. (while still looking like some others out there)
