I always have to shake my head when I see cars roped off at shows. It's just a car FFS...not the Mona Lisa.   A few finger prints wouldn't be the end of the world.  ::)

Yeah, but if it's Vmango around they might have to be concerned with a little more than finger prints... :P

Why oh why do they equip a vehicle like this with fuel saving technology like cylinder / supercharger deactivation?
Is it because of the mandate to lower fleet fuel consumption?

Yeah, I see it on V8 trucks for highway cruising, but this?  Why so many questions?

A Couple errors, Jacob. It's 60% stiffer than the old on - 20% stiffer with the roof off.

Highest stage is called the Z07 not the C07.

Right you are!
C was a typo, I got it right in the other 10 places - again, where is the sheepish emoticon?
The 40% was from my notes from the December preview - teach me to write from the preview presentation and not check the press release!

Yup. Every tenth of a L is going to count. Trucks are starting to feel it too. Ford is pushing weight loss and turbo 6s, Ram with the new small diesel and so on. Everyone is adding gears, 8 for Ram, 9 or 10 in the upcoming Ford/GM transmission.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy with a regular C7, but since I'm just dreaming anyway, HELL YES to the new Z06!

It may be different in flesh, but the interior still looks like it's on par with the best of 'em yet.

I'll visit a local Chevy dealer just to sit in one of these for fun :)

Feeling brave? Feeling lucky, punk? Think you can wrestle all that torque? Well then, you may have a seven-speed manual – but be sure to do your leg presses beforehand, that clutch is bound to be heavy.

Not necessarily true.  If it is designed properly, it shouldn't require a crazy amount of pedal effort.  The clutch in my 300ZX is rated to take up to 700lb-ft of torque and it feels as light as the stock clutch.  Of course, I'm only doing a paltry 530 lb-ft on my race fuel tune, 480 lb-ft on my pump 94 fuel tune.

The Z07 package adds Ceramic breaks, and stickier Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 run-flat tires (compared to the base Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires).

Isn't it brakes?

Sounds like an awesome car.  Not sure if it would be worth the extra coin versus a regular model.  For me, a regular model with a dry sump would be a great weekend warrior track car.

having been through a few cars at cars shows in the past, a few fingerprints isn't the problem...ripped off blinker stalks, emblems, punctured seats, etc....some people get a kick out of stealing parts of the car or vandalizing them.

^^

i heard today that the 2015 F150 is going to be made of something like 80% aluminum...not sure how accurate that was, but saving weight is the goal.

i'll preface my post with the fact i am NOT a Corvette guy...i understand they are good value for the performance dollar, but they have NEVER done anything for me.

this new version is an exception...this is the first Corvette i would buy (aside from something like a 64, i still like the old ones)...none of the Corvettes since the late 60's have been of any interest to me...this new one is spectacular...MotoringTV had Graeme Fletcher drive one as his Test Drive (a beautiful yellow one) car and it was amazing...if i were shopping for a car in this class, it would HAVE to be a serious contender...perhaps a showdown between the Cayman, Corvette and TT-RS is in order??...i think they are all similarly priced when optioned up a bit?

GM has done a great job with this car, the ATS and CTS Caddys as well.

I think the Vette would show the tt-rs and the cockster its tailights.
