LOL, that engine hasn't been used in 12+ years.

Doesnt mean it wasnt a great engine. Happily lives on in many track day, drift and time attack cars.

Damn straight.  Also a fairly common swap for the Datsun 510 and Datsun Fairlady Roadster (1600 & 2000) crowd.

BTW, I like your idea of the modern day Sunny GTi-R.

Of course, but it's hardly realistic to use it these days in terms of power, efficiency, and emissions.

(bonus points for naming the movie)

While engine technology has come a long ways, there are some old mills that are pretty fun.  Think inline six from a Supra, some sweet old V-8s made both by GM and Ford, and others.

Its a 2L turbo with 250 horses....Im sure with a little fine tuning 300 factory horses are doable. Its still a modern, Japanese turbo 4 banger, this isnt a iron duke 4 cylinder.

Yep. I have a monster push-rod V8 with nasty cam, one-piece aluminum intake, roller rockers and headers, sounds pretty darned bad-ass.

And the KLZE I plopped into my MX-3 is a really sweet little thing.

KLZE in a MX-3!!!  Awesome.  I know a guy in Calgary that did a KLDE swap in a MX-3 and then turbocharged it.  Pretty quick little car!

I thought about doing that - but 200hp in a 1,171 kg feels just right. It's a great little car to drive, had it out on the big track at Mosport, and it handles really well.
