Yesterday (June 30th) it was Fiat Canada (yet again) for a 2014 base Fiat Abarth 500, there was a $2500 discount along with the preferred customer discount it was ~ $21,875 before taxes but the $2500 is gone today (July 1st). Oh swell. I should really go test drive one to see how it is...

$2500 "consumer cash credit" appears to be on again for July, one can combine with 0% financing for 60 months, the local dealer is getting two base models in a colour I would buy. Think it is worth going to test drive?  ???

Yes, never a waste of time.
I love it when a plan comes together.

My wife is considering a new (to her) horse trailer in the future, but is thinking she'll need a better tow vehicle.  So I checked out max-tow half tonnes from the D3, as well as gas-engine 3/4 tonnes.  All extended cab with 6.5' box. 2WD (to be cheap), fully realizing no dealer around here will ever stock one.

Cheapest I could get - with biggest engine and max tow capacity - was a little over $33K (OTR) for a Ram 1500 (Hemi, 3.92, but with old 6-speed auto).  F150 with the 6.2 was about 34.5K, and a Silverado with 5.3 & 3.73 was a grand or two more than that.  The 3/4 tonnes ranged from 36 - 40K, all in.  Remember - those are all 2WD models.  4WD would be 3 - 4K more.

But what I came away with is that the D3 have gone absolutely insane when it comes to pricing their trucks.  Every vehicle has at least 7 or 8K on the hood - to start.  Ford currently has 11 grand off some models.  Plus all the other incentives that you don't know about until you see a dealer.  I can see why consumers are so distrusting of dealerships - but it's (mostly) the MNFRs fault, not the dealers, for this stupid pricing.

i wish others knew that... dealers only exist anymore to make sense of the rebates. just to make it more confusing, different people get different rebates.. plus different cab configurations get altered incentives.

the discounts are pretty crazy... just so ya know, a 3.92 on the hemi with the 6 speed will be a tough find. that engine tranny combo was only on the st/sxt model... and most were the 4x4 because that's what they advertised. but you could *possibly* get a factory order in right now... chrysler has delayed the 2015 production so they can put out record numbers on the 1500 for 2014.

anyway, i only popped in here to say that i was reading autoworld and they showed the jd power study on manufacturer websites for canada.... for some reason, in canada, toyota ranks highest by far... in the us, it's 24th. also, our overall average in canada is lower by our southern brothers by 45 (/1000). the main standout to me was bmw down in the bottom at 724/1000... other brands of note, acura was highest in the us(2nd time in a row), yet in canada they are below average. infinity has a near 100 point swing across borders!

2015 Colorado/Canyon configurator is live. Pricing seems reasonable though you can obviously go over $40k if you want.

After getting a ride in a Tesla, I was curious.

So, I priced out the thing and pretty much stopped because it way out of my snack bracket.  :-(

Now if some long, lost, rich and recently departed uncle shows up on the scene in the form of a bequest in his will, well then ...    ;D :shuffle:

^^^
when the US prices came out, I did a quick comparing vs the Tacoma pricing.
It actually looked like the entry price of GM was cheaper but loaded was MORE.
(leaving room for discounts?)

anyways, looks like they're going to try and not compete on pricing alone.

Loaded is likely more because I think the Colorado offers some things that aren't available on the Tacoma.

Although, I didn't notice a sunroof on the gm.ca site. Seems like an odd omission.

when it came out I was inspecting all the pictures and features, couldn't find anything listing a sunroof.
I really wanted one.   But the Taco doesn't have it and I don't believe the Frontier has it either.

just did a quick built on the Colorado (website sucks!)

I tried to build a crew cab Z71 which would be similar to mine.
Look like the Chev is cheaper by about $1,270

however, I'm amazed at some of the little stuff that's "extra" with the Colorado

Trailer package extra (wiring harness, connectors) - various prices
Wheel House Liner $165 (seriously?)
Splash guards extra (really?) - again very pricing options
bedliner, spray-on bedliner... all extras
all weather floor mats, small thing and no big deal since I replaced mine anyways.

all those things came with my truck.

What were you pricing out?  Do you still feel dirty because you want to replace the G so bad?  ;)
