Scored this awesome roller garment bag for $192 at Hudson Bay . Regular price was $450.

Nice - good luggage is a wise investment.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Worth every penny. Ive got one of these: http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/productDetail.aspx?id=Domestic-Carry-On-Upright-Garment-Bag_U175

It's expensive, but the thing is lightweight and build like a tank. The built-in garment bag is key. Best of all? Briggs and Riley will repair or replace your bag if it ever breaks. Not just "the seam tore because it was badly stitched", but "the wheel fell off because I tossed it off the roof of a building."

I typically fly carry-on only, even for a week or more, so this thing is my best friend.

That sort of peace of mind is rather nice. You pay for it up front but even though its probably an expected loss in probabilistic terms, at very least you feel better and you won't have to go shopping a second time. I hate shopping.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

I got this about a year and a half ago for field work.  It's well built and big enough for my two laptops and basically everything else I need.  It's rain cover is not as good as my old Kelty though, but no comparison in capacity.  For business travel I use a nice Victorinox that was given to me by one of our vendors a few years ago.

Bingo. I also have a deep appreciation for quality. I'm very picky about anything I consider a major purchase, something for which I have a rather broad definition. As a result, when I finally make up my mind on choosing something, I like keeping it for a long time.

Oooo bags. I need a new bag, something that I can carry on the train or on my bicycle rack. Here's one front runner:

It's a hybrid messenger/pannier bag, clips onto a bike rack but has shoulder straps. Water repellant for all our rain and comes with a waterproof cover for those heavy downpour days. I had to wear my messenger bag under my cycling rain jacket Thursday so I'd rather have a good bag I can wear outside for the 200 days of rain we get a year. It's nothing as nice as what PJungnitsch posted but for its versatile utility I think it looks pretty good.

I'm not a backpack person. They don't look good with work clothes and they're hot to carry while cycling in the summer.

That's when this one comes in handy.  This is very similar to the one I was given by one of our vendors.
