Long roof Civic will not be available in North America, but maybe if we wish really, really hard...

Europe gets nicer small cars cause they are willing to pay for them.

A loaded up Civic in the UK is about $40,000 CAD which is about as much as a crosstour!

Looks great to me.  Sure beats the CRV which is the closest we get to a Civic wagon.

I agree. Looks okay but it's not for the North American market. In NA we have lots of space and fuel is 1/3 the cost. Until one or both change there will be no acceptance by the general population for smaller more efficient vehicles.

Isn't the Civic the top selling car in Canada?

Yep.  We buy large numbers of small cars and large number of big trucks.....which means there is a very large "acceptance by the general population for smaller more efficient vehicles" and a large number of people who could care less.

It really is astonishingly short-sighted that Honda has concluded it won't sell the Civic wagon and hatch in Canada. Both are much better looking than the awful Crosstour, and more likely to appeal to the ever more important woman purchaser. You'd think that Honda, given the dismal state of the European market, would be only too happy to market some of its UK output here. Happily, as your journal also reports, VW plans to market the latest Golf wagon in Canada, and Mazda, Hyundai, Ford and GM recognise there is a worthwhile market for small hatchbacks here, so consumers won't be wanting for other choices. But you gotta wonder what Honda's managers are thinking.
