To all of those with the "wouldn't drive one in winter" comments, this morning on my commute I followed a red (of course) Ferrari FF into Montreal. Not a company or press car either, it had a regular plate.  It had oem wheels, probably wrapped with winter tires by law, and the brownish salt crud all over.

If you have the money ... it's a nice litte hatchback runabout for winter  ;D

That is freaking awesome. Props to that owner.

That Ferrari was something to see, only one I've seen in winter. Last December, I came accross a red (again) late-model Maserati powersliding through heavy snow in Montreal - nicest exhaust noise I ever heard from a winter beater  :)  Some Bentley Continental drivers brave the salt - saw a pretty crudded Flying Spur, too - and lately a couple of Tesla S.

Here in Toronto, I saw a black (mostly grey with salt) Tesla S in my rearview mirror just a few days ago.
I also see a Bentley Continental on a weekly basis in downtown too.  Both great cars in their own way.

And will your new Porsche impress the ladies at said bar — unfortunately most likely not. What’s with that anyways? Most of the women I know just don’t get it, I guess….[/url]

Most women like circle(s) on the badge -- Merc, Audi, BMW... nothing wrong with them, but it's sad nonetheless...
The shield shapes of Lambo, Porsche, and Ferrari are too hardcore for most.

How many women you know like the noise, harshness, and vibration of supercars as a passenger? Sure it's fun going fast on smooth roads, but I bet they'll pick the comfort of Audi, MB, and BMW over the performance of Lambo, Porsche, or Ferrari as a passenger.

Most of the people who can afford this car most likely use it as a fair weather summer vehicle and have something like a Range Rover for the winter.

If I owned something like this it would not see winter.

what the point of having 4S then?  if i had 4S, i would drive it all year, including winter.
if i had regular carrera S, i would STILL drive it all winter, with the exception of truly horrible days.
(like -30 or snowstorm days)

I won't drive my TTRS in Southern Ontario brine shushed roads. I only take it out when the roads are bare, dry, and the salt dust is gone. If I had a $140k to spend on a 4S there is no way I would drive it in the winter and I would have a winter beater. My current one is my Mom's Rav4  ;D

You do realize your Audi is made of galvanized steel that won't rust?  Why does Audi, VW, Porsche and BMW give a 12 year rust warranty?  Because of this fact.  Still, your choice.  If I had the means, I would drive one in the winter.

Wing, there are NO simple ways to the 40... and I keep seeing tourists blocking traffic while looking at their useless / confused GPS gizmos - with all the roadwork and building construction, plus weekly mods of one-ways by the boroughs, you need to know the territory.

9.5l/100? Amazing!

I have a 23 year old Audi as a winter beater, it doesn't have any rust holes in the body, galvanized as you mentioned, but it does have corroded bits underneath, I've replaced brake and fuel lines because of corrosion, some electrical connectors and wires, fuel tank repairs, heat shields, etc.  not to mention  a front air-dam from hitting a large chunk of snow/ice.  Fasteners are also getting quite rusty and often strip heads or break off.  Compare this to my even older 911 which has never seen winter and the difference is night and day once you look underneath.

But yeah, if I had the means I'd be driving a new 911C4S all winter.

Porsche 911s have had galvanized bodies since 1976.
