I started watching 22 Jump Street on Air Canada on my way down to St. Lucia a couple of weeks ago........what a brutal facking movie.  Facking stupid stupid stupid.  I could only get through about 30 mins of it before I shut it off.  I swear, I might only watch 1 movie at best these days out of 10 that I actually enjoy.   ::)

On another note, I recently watched a movie called The Grand Seduction", which was filmed in NFLD.  Absolutely loved this movie!!  Definitely check it out if you have the chance.

your expectation was too lofty Shane!!

I watched 21 jump street shortly before i watched the 22 jump street and it was just mindless fun.  (i did skip fair bit of the second installment)

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Agree. Saw it a few weeks ago. Lots of ideas covered in one movie, but it seems to work. And the movie stays accurate with respect to any scientific concepts. Also, hope you like organ music.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Haha, I thought it was actually pretty funny. Didn't take itself seriously at all. Not my usual preference for movies but I didn't regret seeing it.

Yeah, I just watched it, too. Some good ideas, but ultimately a bit silly. Didn't think much of the ending.

got around to seeing elysium...

like district 9, trying to be a sci-fi satire type look at certain conditions we currently have in the world... i like these types of films. showing the future not as a glamorous flashy one, but dark and dirty... didn't love all the characters or scenes, but the director/writers do a good job of making an entertaining sci-fi movie while not forgetting that they are trying to make it a metaphor.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

Fantastic premise that could have been amazing!  Execution was somewhat lacking.

A bit off topic, but I watch the foreign films when travelling Air Canada. The media player has stuff you can't find anywhere else. Korean romances, Dutch children's films, Spanish horror films... lots of stuff.

Not going to waste my time watching something I can see everywhere else!  :P

While I won't argue the movie was stupid (which it is meant to be) the second half was much better than the first. The jokes got better and lots of hidden messages that a lot of people will miss if you are not paying attention. The ending was the best with the previews for all the sequels to come.

I only watched this because it was recommended for sound on AVS but couldn't wait for it to be over.

We watched Captain America Winter Soldier and enjoyed it. MUCH better than the first one.

Went to it expecting something so-so and came away surprised: it's a pretty good movie!

forgot that i saw that as well... good action movie... i'm not loving that the whole avengers theme has become so pervasive on every sized screen, but enough people love it and it could definitely be worse!

as for the 22 jump.... i haven't seen it yet, but i saw all those "sequel" posters... they were really funny... i thought they seemed too well done to be a reddit thread or anything.... now i know where they came from!
