I would add the Sonic as well (at least in 1.4T trim).

Looks like a snazzy new 2013 Civic LX can be had with a manual for $413/mo. (taxes in) over 60 months and you own it. That's a smart buy IMO, considering it will likely last for many years beyond that. But would I buy a new LX or a CPO SI? Hmmmm....

Well well well, I guess that would be your loss. Maybe I'm a little more broad minded , I'd also look at ford ,Dodge, own a Mazda, don't mind Subaru....

Right, totally slipped on the ATS and I always forget about the Cruze. I never got the "mid-life crisis" BS about the Corvette. There's nothing more mid-life crisis about it than any other sports car. All it is is an affordable supercar with world class performance and a shitty interior - sounds more like a mid-30s "I want the best chassis I can afford car to me."

The GS issues with price I think, but that's why I said in a vacuum it's actually quite a nice car. Seriously, go drive one.

The only GM cars I'd actually consider buying in comparison with the competition would be:

Corvette
ATS
CTS-V
CTS Wagon
Camaro ZL1 and 1LE
Verano Turbo

Not saying these would end up in my garage, but they'd definitely get good consideration for the class.

I think that came from the gold chain and brut cologne crowd who bought all the automatic, convertible Vettes.

It's like me saying everyone who drives a BMW is a douchebag.  ::)

Welllll.............. :rofl2: Im just kidding. I dont know, when I think of a North American mid life crisis car, the Vette instantly pops into my mind. Every time I see one on the road, its in the right lane, under the speed limit, with a grey hair person driving it. Just going by personal experience.

Stereotype Fobroader correctly!  It is like saying anyone who drives a heavy duty pick-up is a redneck ;) ;D

Corvette is a good product.
The CTS-V is a good product.
The CTS wagon is a good product.

The Verano Turbo is a good product.
The Regal GS (in a vacuum) is a good product.

Good yes but not great. Will you have one parked in your garage within the next 12-18 months  :)

I've noticed the Verano turbo beating the knew Acura ILX in comparisons consistently.

I think both are nice cars and offer a nice entry-level luxury package for small cars.

Saw an ILX and didn't kow what it was . When I saw the Acura badge I thought it had to be one of their best designs, very sleek. almost looks like an audi from behind.

Just maybe I will  :)

And I will add. That if I had more money my daily driver would be a CTS-V wagon....almost certainly. A guy has a silver one with black rims here in town with roof racks....it's so badass.

I agree, wish I could talk my wife into the CTS-V wagon....it will be extinct soon as well. Now if the RS6 Wagon was available she would have no choice  :)

Yep, I'd check them both out if I were looking for a slightly upscale compact.

saw a nice review by MotoringTV this weekend (it was a featured car) and it looked really nice...if i were in the market again, i would consider the new model...i did look at the 2012 Civic EX-L, but there wasn't enough in it to convince to me to spend the extra money...this newly revised one would make me take a more serious look...i don't regret my Rio5 decision one bit, but the new Civic might have been good enough to take it instead.
