You mean nothing has been leaked, no sketches or anything.  I haven't really been following it, I know they are desperately overdue for a redesign, but usually, in this day and age, they are leaks, and previews of what it is going to look like, well before the autoshow...

And I have a feeling to appeal to the masses that it will have a lift hatch, in some situations it is a real pain when you have to go around the vehicle to load suitcases with a swing door design.  Like in big cities, where you have to parallel park (manually, can you believe it!) you have to go around the door each time.

You get a little extra cargo room with having the tire on the door, but you loose visibility, so not sure what the advantages are of having a swing door...  And neither do other manufacturers....

I'd imagine it will look like the CRV, CX-5, Escape, Sportage, Tucson, and so on and so forth......... they are all becoming the same vehicle.

I'm going out on the limb as usual and saying tailgate remains, big outside spare gone which is what our Rep is saying.  Exact power train configurations remain anyone's guess.  Sure hope they offer it as a 2.5 Hybrid.  The EV version may screw this up though  ... or not.

Regardless, it will sell even better and dominate the segment yet again.  ;D

Toyota will probably dump the 2.7 Litre 4-Cylinder engine into the new RAV4 along with the 6-Speed Automatic. No direct injection for Toyota as that would be too progressive. At least it is a huge improvement over the current 2.5 Litre 4-Cylinder and 4-Speed Automatic.
