Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

With surgery upcoming in a few weeks, I'll be off cigars for awile so I decided to have a ceremonial last smoke. I wasn't sure what to pick when I had a moment of good fortune. My neighbour called me over to the fence to thank me for taking care of his mail and newspaper while he was on vacation and he handed me a Montecristo! Problem solved. Montecristo remains, as I have said before, the most consistently fool-proof cigar ever made. In 38 years, I've never had one that didn't burn evenly and have a light draw. They are always flavourful and mild right down to the last 2 inches.

Best FAKE Cohibas yet!
« Reply #372 on: August 24, 2014, 12:43:47 pm »
I always get offered a free cigar from someone who was on vacation or from someone who received a cigar from a friend, co-worker, in-law, etc..

I was mowing the lawn today and a neighbor came over and gave me these cigars.  He said he wasn't a cigar smoker and received them from his father in-law who recently came back from Cuba.  Immediately, I'm suspicious.

I could immediately tell that one of them was a fake...it has 4 dots above the Cohiba strip.  The 2nd one (which came from the same box) only had 3 dots.  Usually the biggest tip off is the gold "Cohiba" script which is either not gold enough and is flat and never raised.  Well these cigars are both very gold and the script and surround is indeed raised.  These are pretty good fake bands...probably the best I've seen.  Now the "Habana, Cuba" script isn't bold enough IMO and the black around the dots isn't bold enough.  Apart from that, a pretty convincing fake.

I think someone could be fooled by this band.

Had a nice smoke to finish the weekend last evening. A CAO La Traviata Maduro...reasonably priced, good burn, easy draw, quite spicy and a bit of a kick at the finish. A few ounces of Highland Park and a super-awesome ashtray ;) and a good experience overall.  :)

Tried a La Aurora 107 for the first time and really enjoyed it. Not sure about the size name but it had the ring gauge of a Robusto and about an inch longer.
