Took my wife to the doctor today to have her staples removed. Too bad it couldn't wait a week, would have made for a good Halloween costume.
Ouch

Yes, everything is coming along very nicely - you should have seen the scar just after the surgery.  :o :hurl: But she's not allowed to put any weight on the leg for three months, so this is going to take a while.  :-\

Here's the x-rays after the surgery. Everyone says the repair went really well, but all I see is a scary amount of metal.

impressive amount of metal in the tibia.

what are they going to do about the fibula .. or was that X-ray only part of the story?

Nice!....looks like my wife's knee after she totaled the Grand Prix in 2001. They asked her after 2 years if she wanted to have the stainless steel plates and screws removed and she said something I can't repeat  :) her leg is 10mm shorter than the other after it was all said and done but she can still drive an S2000 and lift weights so all is good  ;D

Yeah, we were concerned about that at first, too. Thought the surgeon forgot to fix it.  :rofl2:

But everyone has told us that the fibula is too small to worry about fixing. They move it back into place as best they can, and apparently it will just heal on its own. I guess we'll see.

The guy that built my house had a cement shroud built for the septic and topped it with a custom cover made out of galvanized steel - also had a spare cover built at the time.  I built an inukshuk on top to hide the cover.  Just move a few rocks off the it, pull off the cover and the lid for the septic tank is right there.

I cursed him for many things, but that was not one of them.

Look on the bright side. It's much better than "much love homely".

I'm so happy right now! The simple things make you happy! I came in and was hungry. Low and behold I see a HUGE pot of pasta and a HUGE pot of sauce. I load up my plate. Taste. OMG, IQ! This pasta sauce is fire-spicy. I need a drink. Look in fridge and there's an army of cheap Coors Banquet beers.

The simple things...the simple things.

Couldn't eat those kind of meals at 3am, even when I worked nights.  Used to have my supper at lunch time, and my lunch (a smaller meal) at supper time.  Coors, yeah that's simple..  Cheap date...  ;)

Broken car!

Must be a non plated car.  It's a Derby experience lol

I practically just gave away a working Audi 90q20v quattro.  Nobody wanted it locally for rallycrossing or ice-racing, I tried.
