whoa that sounds awesome!

No I have peanut butter on these hair trigger plastic traps.  They seem to work.  I also bought some old school traps but notice peanut butter gone, trap still active.

They are smart I guess.  I think I got all or most now.  Put out 2 traps, thursday night, woke up, 2 dead.  Put them back out friday morning.  Came home, 2 dead and saw 1 running around.  Put out 6 traps at 3, came home at 10pm nothing disturbed.

Woke up this morning and 1 dead.     Going to leave them out obviously just in case.

These are deer mice, some are pretty tiny babies.  Must have just had a litter because I think I'm up to 15 or so.  Hopefully the entry point is now sealed.

Also going to rub peppermint oil on the underside of the house where I think they entered as that apparently deters them greatly.

Looks like my Triumph driving season is coming to an ignominious end after a very short run.

Once again, my prostate is the culprit...I'll be glad to get rid of that thing.

Because of a lengthy series of tests from May to July, I never got around to licensing the Triumph until July. With rain in the forecast for tomorrow and possibly early next week, I won't get a chance to drive it again. I'll have to pull the battery out of it this weekend. After my surgery (scheduled for wednesday), I won't be able to drive or several weeks. Furthermore, it could be a couple of months before I can do any heavy lifting. So I have to pull the battery now and bring it in the house for the winter.

Didn't even burn a tank of gas this year!

Crap.  The microSD card in my smartphone crapped out.  Lost all my apps and a couple photos.  Windows see the card but no file system on it.

Ugh, looks like deer mice in the floor joists / basement ceiling.

Aren't deer mice the evil ones?  The ones where if they get in your car/camper/truck, the insurance company writes it off and burns it to the ground? Might have the wrong mice, but I know there's one kind we have here in MB where they do that - won't even let you collect your stuff.  Carry some nasty virus or something like that.

I think you're referring to the hanta virus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hantavirus  a very nasty bug.

Yeah, yet if you google it.  Apparently only a small percentage of deer mice in Northern Ontario have ever tested positive for it.  I was worried at first as well.  Maybe it's worse in MB then here?

It seems they are all gone, haven't caught one or heard any activity in the last 2 days.  There is some feces in the ceiling that I can see, I'm going to sweep that out and clean it up.  Unfortunately I know there must be a nest in my ceiling someplace but the only way to find that would be to tear down the entire ceiling in the basement.

Never been a case in Manitoba.

Hantavirus is one of those things people like use scare themselves when they run out of real fears. We like to worry about nonsense. Your chances of getting hit by lightening are a hundred times greater than you chances of getting hantavirus.

Three deaths in Manitoba from hantavirus since 1999.  Still, your chances of contracting the virus are remote.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

It was a beauty!  I took this photo as soon as the guy parked and good thing because it had crowd around it a few seconds later.  The guy said he bought it in Brantford, Ont. a few years back and it looks almost showroom condition....

Not sure if you can tell from this photo, but the roof takes a slight downward angle at the point where the c-pillar starts and offsets the otherwise straight lines of the car just right and is a beautiful design feature that I don't believe existed on the 4-door.

The 63 and 64 Impalas have always been one of my favourites, and that design feature was one of the things that drew me to these vehicleseven at the age of 13 and 14.

I honestly dont remember seeing very many two-doors even when growing up, so they must be quite rare.  My friend had a 63 4-door years ago while in high school and they were a looker as well.

I got an email from my friend wishing me luck in my upcoming surgery. I sent him a brief reply.

He phoned me a few minutes later saying my reply was blocked for "objectionable language".

I though that was strange because my whole email to him was about 4 sentences long and I almost never swear. Unfortunately, it seems I made a joke about hinding my porn so that my mother wouldn't find it if I died on the table. Any email containing the WORD "porn" is blocked where he works.

I understand blocking porn...but blocking use of the word?

Oh well.

Checking the GO Train schedule for Friday and got this...

There is no Train & Bus Service Eastbound towards Oshawa (09) for Friday, September 5. Please select another type of service or date to travel.

WTF?
