I like those, good excuse to drop by the shop  ;D I just used my hiking shoes and a good pair of socks.

that's what I do for now.   I've got a pair of flat pedals I swap with the clipless and use my hiking boots.
but this winter I think I'm going to invest in a good pair of winter cycling boots!

How can I tell what the thinest size of tires I can put on my bike are (14 Giant Escape 2)?

I asked at the bike shop where I bought it one time and they only responded saying I could go a little smaller the difference isn't something you'd probably notice.

You can refer to this table: http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html#width

I believe your Escape runs 32mm wide tires, so you should be fine with 28mm tires.

What do you want to achieve with the thinner tire? Just something to consider: In road biking, there's been a shift of moving from the de facto standard 23mm tires that are stock on most bikes to 25mm tires for more comfort without a sacrifice in rolling resistance. Some go even 28mm provided that the clearances allow it.
Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth

I've heard the same.   The Salsa rep was telling my friend's shop that it's becoming the new standard in the US.

We're also starting to see a move to wider rims (at least in mountain biking).  Wider rims will help create a better contact patch with the tire / road.

I have a feeling I'll be doing the same thing this winter since we are moving away from our local gym which was only a 1 block walk. Plus I had 3 amazing instructors that gave me very intense cycling workouts.

Maybe I should buy one like yours and we can race online.

The weak point of Tacx, software development....

I'm not updating mine anymore after hours spent doing IT rather than training. I thought they had fixed that but obviously not...

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Fack....

We see that the update went wrong
Can you redo it

First we need to unhide hidden folders

Windows 7
Start Windows explorer
Go to ORGANISE  (left top side)
Go to FOLDER AND SEARCH OPTIONS
Select tab: VIEW
Then select: show hidden folders or unhide hidden folders

For Windows 8
Start Windows explorer
Go to view
Select the option: hidden folders (checkmark)

Go to Control Panel – SOFTWARE - and remove TTS4

Create a folder: C:\tacxbackup

Go to
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\Trainings.  Copy the folder TRAININGS and paste it in: C:\tacxbackup\
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\tts4.lic (tts4b.lic) en copy these files to: C:\tacxbackup\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacx\TacxTrainersoftware4\Launcher\ (if this is still there) and copy it to C:\tacxbackup\

Remove the folder: C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4
Remove the folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacx\TacxTrainersoftware4 (if this is still there)

Then reinstall TTS 4.12

TTS 4.12
http://www.tacxdata.com/files/support/TTS4.12full.zip
How does it work

    Create a folder C:\TTS4.12 full installer\
Download the link in the folder
    Unzip – extract it
run setup.exe. The softwawre is now installer

To get the license back

Go to
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\and remove tts4b.lic and tts4.lic

Then go to
C:\tacxbackup\tts4.lic or TTS4b.lic (is for basic) and copy the file to
C:\ProgramData\Tacx\TrainerSoftware\TTS4\

Now start the software

Kind Regards,

I'm thinking about moving the POS 60" plasma downstairs for this purpose. Why can we have VR goggles?

:fiver: Track riding is so much fun!  You're so lucky to get a new velodrome close to you - very jealous.  And steep too!

Looks as steep as the old Olympic Velodrome (pic from early 80s).

Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

Article in my new Men's Journal about the guy who beat the world record for track distance in 60 minutes. He says it's the most difficult "race" he's ever done, and he's done them all.

Track looks like fun though
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...
