The Brian Jonestown Massacre
these guys have been around a long time and we've seen them twice many years ago.
Those days the band did tons of drugs and drank like fishes. When they played, members of the band would drink straight from 60's The shows were famous for quickly descending into chaos.
Anton (the band leader and guy who just about writes everything) would sometimes stop the songs if other members did something wrong. Sometimes things would escalate into fights between each other.
We seen one show that went off pretty good and other just insane.
(however, when they did play it was amazing)
Last night out of curiosity we did a You Tube search for a live show. watched two shows from this year and was impressed as to how they seemed to have gotten their act together. No fights, yelling, stopping, etc.
There was a "documentary" of the band (and the Dandy Warhols) a few years back called Dig!
pretty wild stuff and worth a watch if you big rock out psychedelic music.
[note: Dandy Warhols are still putting out records but we don't really think they're any good... first 3 albums are awesome though]
