Looks great. I agree, bring over a diesel version and people will buy it.
Yep - both of them.
I think wagons make a huge amount of sense and some look really sharp, but forum demand for diesel wagons bears no correlation with actual market demand.
Jaeger
It's funny you say this. I am writing the Caddy SRX article and began with a bit of a rant on how much of a minority enthusiasts are when it comes to the car buying public. We have no pull
Acutally Jaeger, I COULD argue that the diesel argument is "proven" to be stronger for the Wagon segment by actual current sales, and not just by forum chatter. Which true "small" wagons are available in NA? Golf (Jetta) Wagon, and maybe the ET if you count that as a wagon. What is he proportion of compact wagon sales that are diesel? The Golf Wagon TDI take rate is apparently > 50%. Therefore wagon owners must love diesel engines, right? Of course that's a fallacious argument, as it conflates the correlation (wagon sales that happen to be diesels) with causation (people really want diesel-powered wagons). It certainly doesn't hurt VW that they are the only maker of true small wagons, and the only marketer of reasonably priced (and excellent) diesels. Jetta sales are heavily comprised of diesels too, but that doesn't mean all sedans from other makes would have similar diesel take rates if they offered them as well. But if there were more diesel wagons (with MT!!!) to choose from, what else would we b!!ch about?

And Mike, enthusiasts must have at least SOME pull. How else do you explain the BRZ/FR-S?
