Agreed. In darker colours it's a very sharp design.

I rented a GC with that same head unit and couldn't stand it. I found the touch buttons difficult to hit when driving on anything but smooth pavement. Probably a function of the height and stiff ride.

A friend with the 300C and MDS (?) ways he gets better economy than the 2011 Caravan they have.

I was never a fan of the Durango whatsoever. But I've seen a few of the new ones on the road now and it's an extremely nice looking SUV. I've never sat inside of one, but the pics of the interior look very nice as well.

I do like the look of these. In darker colours they look great! Chrysler has really stepped up the interiors on their new batch of vehicles. Just drove in a new Journey, and if that interior is anything to go by, the Durango must be a very nice place to be in

The prospect of a $100+ weekly fillup (with my weekly mileage) scares me. Put in perspective, that's $5,000+/year in gas alone. That's easily full university tuition for my 3 kids if you factor in 20% govmnt adds to your RESP and investment appreciation after 15 years!!!
If you don't have kids, that's your retirement money going literally up in smoke.
If you need it, go for it, if you want it, think twice - do you... really?

I think the Citadel would be out for me - there HAS to be "better" offerings out there for that kind of money. However would like to see a review with the V6.

James, does the passenger seat fold forward flat?

A more plebian version could be a possible replacement for our Tucson come fall or next spring.

If you need to tow something then the V8 makes sense, if not I would go with V6. Especially now that its paired with the 8 speed.

I guess if investing was everyone's primary goal we would all be on the bus right now..... I think if you can afford a fully loaded Durango Citadel, you can most likely afford fuel and saving for your retirement.

That said, you are right, that is alot of money on fuel. Sad to say my minivan gets similar mileage schlepping kids around town

2004 Freestar average - 12.9L/100km
2011 Durango V8 average - 16.5L/100km

Lady Leadfoot drives it mostly, short trips hauling the kids around.

Cruising on the highway at 110 to Moosejaw saw the mileage hit 9.3L/100km, best yet.
