What Would You Like to See Different on autos.ca
« on: February 07, 2012, 10:22:11 pm »
As a spin off of the autotrader thread, what changes/enhancements/additions would you like to see for autos.ca?

It is wide open, you have an idea, let us know.  We are open to all suggestions and are all adults and can take criticism.

Examples are:
  • What do you want more of?
  • What do you want less of?
  • What is working well?
  • What isn't working well?
  • What are we missing that should be added?
  • What isn't missing that we should never add?

Examples of current enhancements we are working on are: comparison tests making a more regular return and less duplicate vehicle reviews

Get rid of that lawyer guy Charness.  Those articles are awful and are a waste of space.

I'd like to see at least some instrument data. 0-60, 1/4 mile, sound level. Maybe posting results from Motoring?

What about upvote/downvoting posts on the forum? It used to have that function way back when.

Kill the Incentives section.  It's horrendous.  Was from the get go.  Has anyone on your end actually viewed it?

Everything else is pretty PRO.  :)

I notice that APAX's head office is in Montreal.  Is that the connection with Charness  ???  Somebody's BUD.  :rofl2:   You do know, he just makes those stories up.

You asked.  ;D

+1 The concept has merit but the articles are so poorly written as to be silly.

Those are both good things.

I think the concept of focussing on the law as it intersects with the automobile is a good one.  I do not think it has been particularly well executed in its current form.

Beyond that,  I've got nothing much to gripe about.

+1 to AB's comment. They write it (the review), they should defend it.

Having a Lawyer on board is not a bad thing but they should be available for advice and for commenting on real cases. Charness practices in Quebec under Civil Law. Not very usefull for the rest of Canada.

Plus the stories are poorly written and rather pointless.  I'd rather read Dear Abby.   :P
