Final Event of the first inaugural CTC Spec Time Trial Series has begun!!!

Where        :    Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit  (hate this track)

What car    :    Bone Stock Ferrari 458!

Rules?        :    Same as before.

This is the final event in the series!  Laguna Seca event has been a disaster, from the crap organizer( ;D) to new challenger(Force) coming up to destabilize the established members' rankings.   Oh the DRAMA!!!  (just like real F1, eh?   ;) ;) ;) ;) )

all participants are showing big improvements in time, but this event will decide Who is the fastest amongst Forza 4 players within CTC!

Comeon guys!  show me your time!

UPDATE : OMG!!!!  Series CHAMPION has been decided.   by points, I am number one, just by virtue of participating in all events( ;))...  However, the new contender who entered the fold in the middle of the series, Force, has crushed the established order and jumped to the top.
Since, in those two events I was nowhere close to Force's time, I have to concede the championship.

Thank you to quad, mmret, weexy, force, and EVERYONE who participated in the threads as racers or commenters.
I personally THANK YOU.

Jeeez!!  I ran a few laps last night & got 2:10.0 something something & thought that was ok for a first kick at it.
hahahahaha... Here's the scene in my head right now...
You crossing the line at 2:02.  You hop out of the 458, order a pizza, eat half of it,, then i'd come along at my 2:10...

I got some work to do.   :P

Is that the view you use?  You don't even "drive" from inside the cockpit?
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

So, ran a few more laps last night & got worse .  2:11  :-[
This was after dinner though where I had a couple glasses of wine and then a nice shot of Cognac, so that may have had something to do with it...

I always start off good, then find myself carrying too much speed later into the corners & screwing them up.

I don't drive in cockpit view either.  I do 'superman' view.   I find the cockpit views always show too much of the cockpit.  I don't always see the steering wheel, radio, headliner and a-pillar when I drive normally, so why should I here.

It is a more thrilling view driving inside the car so I do it for races where my car is far more powerful than the competition.

I shaved 2/10th of a second off my best...   nowhere near fast enough.

dammit..

we have a CHAMPION for the series.

Please put your hand together for the first CTC Spec Time Trial Championship Champion, Force!!!

How does it feel to come out from no points until the middle of championship to demolishing our times and winning the first championship?  ;) ;D

Congrats, man.

**I won't create a ceremonial announcement thread, but will update this last one.

Thanks! It was fun, glad I could participate. My offer stands - I'm happy to provide pre-tuned cars to anyone who wants to have a look at how I set mine up.

Well you don't fly in the air behind your real car while you're driving, so why should you here?   ;)

IMO...not much point in playing a racing simulation if you don't "drive" the car as close to the real thing as you can.  Otherwise, you might as well just play the arcade style driving games (NFS Shift, etc)

I firmly believe the cockpit view makes you faster, if anything. It's much easier to detect slip angle at the rear of the car from the inside view than it is watching from a distance outside. As a result, I find I can control the vehicle's direction much more accurately using the throttle.

All driver aids in this game slow you down. Threshold braking stops shorter than ABS. TCS kills momentum and slows corner exits. ESC inhibits trail braking and limits your ability to steer the car with the throttle. The lines are completely wrong and dead slow. Simulation steering gives you infinitely more control over the car. Using manual is faster than automatic, and using the clutch is faster still.

But that's what I do,  Superman view is this (also called bumper cam).  Like you are flying in front of the car

The only aid I use is ABS in GT5.  The controller set up makes it near impossible to threshold brake.  I wish I had a wheel
