Canadian Grand Prix!
« on: February 03, 2012, 06:11:11 pm »
I would like to nominate my wife for wife of the century...... she just bought us tickets to the Canadian Grand Prix with Delta hotel and Gold section 3 day passes for my 40th birthday.

Anyone been to one of these before, any advice on what or what not to do?

Thanks.

I AM SO HAPPY ;D

HA!!!  That was my Christmas gift last year.  You're gonna love it!!!  Bring ear plugs.

Last year, and I think the year before, there was a free pit lane open house on the Thursday morning.  You couldn't get right into the pit garages, they were roped off.  But you were still close enough to be able to see inside pretty well.

Downtown montreal is a zoo, but it's a great atmosphere.  All of Crescent street is closed down, and there's lots going on.  Every red light is an impromptu car show.

My pictures are in my thread here:

Public transport is about the only way to get to the race, the metro is efficient, return to city after race can be rather crowd taxing

40?  Pfft, young'uns.  :rofl2: :rofl2:

I'm about to hit the big 50 in a couple of months.  Hmm, maybe I can kind of, suggest an idea or two in the right ears ...  :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Enjoy the weekend.  Although I've never been, the hoopla that builds on Crescent St. (and others nearby) is quite something.  The race itself can be heard for several kilometers if the prevailing winds allow it.

Congrats!

Shmite, it is a midlife crisis club. I turned 40 in January  ;D
But all I got was an upgrade to Canon 5D Mark II with an L lens so I can take (better) pictures of the kids.
