2012 Hyundai Accent
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:06:04 am »
Hey guys,

We’ve pretty much decided to purchase the new 2012 Hyundai Accent in hatchback form. We’re either getting the GL or the GLS. From what I can see the only differences (or major ones) are that the GLS has the 16” wheels & sunroof.

Is the mileage that people are getting close to the manufacturer’s #s?

Are people getting good deals on these cars, is their some negotiating room? I know this is dealer specific, but I wouldn’t mind knowing what the average is.

If you have any other info regarding this car, please do share.

Thanks!

You can get a fairly accurate dealer invoice number by getting a Car Cost Canada membership. It's $25 or $30 for something like 10 quotes (each trim is a quote). For something as inexpensive as an Accent, the dealer profit margin is likely less than $1,000, though...

As for GL vs GLS, with the GLS, you get bluetooth, heated seats, fog lights, 16" alloys (instead of 14" steel wheels, what?!) and sunroof. Those are all desirable features, IMO. For an extra $1,800, that seems like a good price.

Thanks Shnak...i figured i would ask here before heading to CCC. I know the car is fairly new, but i wouldn't mind knowing poeple's impression so far.

Second the recommendation for Car Cost Canada.

I think it's a very nice little car but can't give you any feedback on fuel economy.  Maybe try a Hyundai forum and solicit opinions from owners?
