Mmm and I will actually have time this weekend.

Yay for class A. So many options. But that damn corkscrew....
Everything in life is relative.

dammit.  my post disappeared.

anyway.

here's my opening salvo.

at Laguna Seca
using    :  Acura NSX-R 2002, modded to the hilt, A600 (will list mods later)
time      : 1.37.760

traction on, abs on, brake lines on.

that's the best time i could get so far using any of my A600 cars.

so i've put it up on my car club shared garage, anybody's welcome to try the car. (join club "hihj".)

My lap record on this track in A Class is a 1:32.423, but that was with a Lotus 2-Eleven. For this competition I'm going to enter with something a little less extreme.

Last night I did some laps in an A600 Honda S2000 and got a 1:33.045. Full weight reduction, race tires, cams/block/pistons/exhaust, plus the usual chassis bits (race suspension, brakes, A/R bars, etc.).

With all cars (whether F class or R1) I run with no assists and use manual w/ clutch.

I forgot to take a picture, but anyone who wants to verify can add me - GT is Force 7. If anyone wants tuning advice or needs help building cars, I'm happy to help. I can also just gift tuned cars for those that want it.

Tried a few laps in Opel Speedster the other night - times nowhere near you two guys.
I always f-up either that damn corkscrew or the last sharp left before you come down the home stretch.

aquadorhj - i'll try giving your NSX a run.

The S2K is lightning quick but it's a major handful. The Lotus 2-Eleven is much easier to control, but it's a "scoreboard car", i.e. it's unreasonably quick and dominates the top of the scoreboards. I put most of my effort into making rarer cars fast.

I'm happy to gift tuned cars to people... If you're good at Rivals Mode Forza basically showers you with money.

Things you can do to address tail happy behaviour:

- Soften the rear suspension
- Add rear toe in
- Softer rear stabilizer bar
- Lower the Accel setting on the rear differential

If it's unstable under braking, try and add some rear brake bias.

I've tried all sorts of cars now.  Short of the lotus, I can't even come close to Force's time. :-(

I think he's using the force. :p  lol

It's that corkscrew.  I keep up with nsx or even go faster than it using miata or s2k up to corkscrew, then my nsx blows the other cars away, even with wing assisted down force and exaggerated rear camber.

It's up to you guys to beat Force's time.  I raise my white flag this time.

Go weexy and mmret!!!  May the force be with you! :D

Do you guys have gold memberships? If so, add me - GT is Force 7.

For the corkscrew, approach on the left side of the Rahal straight and (for A Class) brake just before the crest, drifting right over the "apex" of that small turn and ending up in the right-hand side of the track. Once you've scrubbed enough speed, turn in and clip both curbs of the corkscrew, accelerating hard as soon as you're clear of the first one.

I'm usually in second gear for the first curb and accelerating in third by the time I clear the second.

Thats the way I do it, but I always get the rear end a bit fiddly once I hit the brakes.

I think I need a wheel + pedal set to get better control.
