He was smart to drive on the flat and get out of that kill zone.

On the topic of Subaru stereos, I tested a 2011 Outback Ltd with the Harmon Kardon and was unimpressed.  It was good, but not worthy of mentioning the "special" brand.
No place I'd rather be...

Coincidentally,I saw an older Impreza today at the transit parking lot. It was parked butt up on the 45% "mountain slope" created by the city snow plows when they cleared the lot. Talk about showing off :). Wish I'd taken a picture to share here.
"Let me help." A hundred years or so from now, I believe, a famous novelist will write a classic using that theme. He'll recommend those three words even over "I love you."

The Impreza stereo surely can't be any worse than the stock one in the S2000.  I've got an aftermarket HU in mine (which I rarely listen to), but the stock HU's and speakers are garbage.

Our 330i has the Harmon Kardon "premium" audio upgrade. Its crap compared to the TSX's stock bose system.

What is most entertaining about the Impreza is not its acceleration or even its all-wheel drive stability, but its overall feel. It’s nimble, light on its feet and makes you want to toss it around on your daily drive.

how delightful

This is the first review of this car that I have read where the CVT was not slammed.

James, too bad you couldn't get into the Manual.  It raises the fun level even higher.  Sadly it too has non-defeatable stability control  :-\

Whaaat?  That's just plain wrong.   One of the reasons to go with a manual Impreza is to kick out the rear end at will.   Shame on Subaru.

I know, I got it good and sideways in the snow only to the stability control snap the car (and almost my neck) back into line.

Thank goodness the Charger R/T can now have stability control turned right off :)

Really? Man, in order to have any fun you have to get a car from the '90's, before all the gadgets ruined the fun.

Lawyers getting in the way of driving dynamics again. Listen, if I want to stuff myself into a guardrail/rock/bridge, than dammit, I should have that right.

Yeah I tried holding the button for a minute no go.  It does seem to lessen the effect when the traction control is off but if you slid her sideways it will kick it back in line.

Perhaps...  But that's a little beyond what I should be doing with a car.

I have launch control on the Forester.  It's called "only 165hp and AWD..."

I took an Impreza sedan for a test drive a couple of weeks ago and thought it was pretty decent, except for one big problem - noise. The CVT lets out a whine constantly which of course gets worse when you're accelerating. Add that to the considerable wind noise that occurred at 100 kph on a calm day, and I figured I would have to be deaf in order to live with that car - or else it would need one of those electronic noise cancelling systems in the cabin. I also found the price to be a bit high.
