Professional glamour shots will always show a vehicle in its best light (which is very much the point) but that's still a long way from "just fine" to my eye.  It's an ill-proportioned blob.

It looks like a tarted up Saturn Vue.

Wow, my thoughts exactly when looking at those last batch of pics.  Interior looks fantastic though.

It does... but much smaller I think as well.

Makes sense...isn't it based on a Vauxhall and/or Opel CUV?...as was the Vue

Just got back from NAIAS, ill-proportioned is correct.

How well does the Nissan Juke sell in Canada?  It's also a small crossover...  How does this compare in size to a late 1990s Suzuki Vitara or a first-gen Honda CRV?  Everything has gotten so huge we forget that trucks and cars used to be much smaller...

Not sure about sales, but I recently looked at the Juke in a Nissan showroom. I had mistakenly thought it was a cutesy vehicle like their Cube and the Kia Soul. Turns out it's a much sportier, sexier performance car, but with some SUV/CUV features. Trouble was, imo, it only runs on premium fuel. Not sure why they wouldn't make it for regular fuel and have more mass appeal.

Apparently getting a turbo to run on 87 is hard. Most turbos seem to require more premium fuel... at least until Ford came out with EcoBoost and Hyundai put a 2.0L turbo in the Sonata. No idea why those don't need it at all while others do. Something to do with compression and engine knocking?

Seriously, the front looks like it's already been in collision with the grille bars flashing back to the images from 9/11.
The side view is hideous.

Edit: and why in the bloody h3ll did I respond to an old thread? :-\

To make it more up to date and relevant :)

Apparently there may be a Chevy version intended for European consumption but the article speculates about the Canadian market as well.

They should sell the Chevrolet version in N.A. and ship the Encore to the Buick-loving Chinese.  IMHO an extra cute-ute won't help the limited line-up of the brand ... it would be easier to promote as a Chevy.  Anyone saw a Verano in the wild yet?

Chevy version coming to Canada, not the US:

Chevrolet’s Mini Crossover Is Making Trax To The Great White North

As TTAC’s official reviewer of all things “emerging market cast-offs sent to Canada”, I’ll be busy again in Q4 2012, when I get my hands on a Chevrolet Trax.

While General Motors American arm said that “…because of the strong position of the Equinox, there are no plans to introduce the Trax in the U.S. market…”, the Trax is a no brainer for Canada. And isn’t it so much more attractive than the gawky, pencil-eraser-proportioned Encore? I’m personally interested to see how different the interior is from the Buick and Opel version
.
