I don't mind the hybrid thing... Its in the spirit of the original NSX, to innovate and use different technology rather than making a mid engine sports car with a big V12, etc.  VTEC, etc, were introductions on the original NSX, so if they can work some real magic using hybrid tech on the new one, than all the power to them.

The NSX concept looks great - hopefully, it makes it to production with the design intact.  It gives me the impression of being small, light, with a low hoodline and good visibility - attributes of Hondas from the 80's and 90's.

That picture is most promising.

Don't mind the hybrid idea as long as the weight is kept down somehow...maybe if it was just a KERS type deal.

But KERS is a pretty limited thing.  Even in F1, the pinnacle of auto engineering, KERS is only good for about 6 seconds use per lap.  Not sure if this would be optimal for a road car...yet.
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Oh I agree, I'm just saying that any more than that and I'm afraid the batteries would add too much weight.

If it came out to 3800lbs would you still say its keeping with the spirit of the NSX? I dunno.

Also obviously you could use the KERS coming out of every braking corner given there's no rule limitation. Slightly useless on a road car...more of a track weapon.

6 seconds per lap in F1 is like having KERS for half of your driving day in real life...  Also, its limited in F1 not because that's all they can come up with, its a technical rule, just like mandatory tire compounds, etc.

Still...the technical hurdles required to get it into a road going car are fairly high...at least according to McLaren.  Oh..and currently one of the leading designs for road cars (Flybrid KERS system) can only be used with a CVT.

Tell Ferrari that... They seem to have figured it out on a 599 with a 7 speed sequential...  Good for an extra 100hp and around town pure electric.  The problem isn't execution in a road car, that's easily done... The problem is does anyone who can afford an exotic really care or want KERS?

While most supercars opt for brute force delivered from a large engine, the NSX Concept champions the true racing philosophy of an extremely favorable power-to-weight ratio.

This sounds promising... I hope it remains true to this. :D
