I would first ask you to read your owners manual. It will start you out with what maintenance needs to be done and when.

If its a new car, that's what I would do.

I never go more than 2 weeks without washing the exhaust with dish soap and warm water.

I used to do that too but I gave it up. Too exhausting... ;D

If you mean a NEW car then the first thing is to read the owners manual for the service intervals EVEN IF the car has an automatic reminder.
I, being of an age that remembers when even new cars had faults...    Check the tires, oil and coolant every week for the first month and after that the oil and coolant every month forever. ( Like French polishing a piece of furniture).  Check the tires every month Feb thru Oct and every week Nov thru Jan. Tire pressures drop off a lot in the fall as the weather gets colder.
Remember that new tires and brakes need a couple of hundred KMs to "break in"

If the car is brand new this week then buy some winter tires.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Again if this is a NEW car then make sure that you have all those un-obvious services done that are in the maintenance book but perhaps in a different section from the main part.   Brake fluid change every 2 or three years. Coolant change maybe every 4 years.  Fuel and air filters should be in the regular service schedule but maybe at very long intervals, you may want to change the engine air filter and the cabin air filter if fitted more often.

As others here have said....changing ALL fluids and filters (not just oil) at the manufacturer's specified intervals is the single most important thing you can do.

Also,  if its new, following the reccomended service intervals that the manufacturer reccomends is important to keep your warranty. Dont want to get your warranty denied on something expensive because you didnt get your coolant checked at "X" mileage.
