This was my email back to them......

I have to be honest, I think you are a good salesperson and honest but I won't be doing business with your dealership due the misleading practices of whoever does up your financing figures.  I have never been so frustrated trying to figure out a car payment in my life.  I contacted two other Kia dealerships in NL, the Gander one had similar payments but told me they charge $2,500 OVER msrp for thier vehicles, at least they are up front about it.  The Grand Falls one had the same vehicle for about $60 less a month.

Anyway best of luck with it all but in 2012 when consumers have access to so much information I think you guys are totally out of touch.  Please pass my comments along to your management staff, I will be sharing with Kia Canada.

Thanks for your help and time.

Do you get full credit in Ontario? In BC, you only get credit on the provincial portion of HST, 7%. So for a $25,000 vehicle and $10,000 trade in value, you pay $1250 federal portion HST (5%) and $1050 provincial portion HST (7%)

Before HST and after HST.  No difference.  Pay on balance.  Can also apply an owned vehicle HST credit towards monthly tax on a lease.

There was no negative equity in the trade - never been in that position.  For some reason he suggested "adding" the discount to the trade-in value and leaving the selling price at list

Certainly did not mean to imply that you had credit issues which I'm sure you don't.  :flowers:

Very common to pump up the trade value for a number of reasons, dealer self interest included, and leave the selling price at list.

Knock the Pilot down to $14,900 firm and then take another stab at it.

What did the price of the Regal come to after the massive discount?

$800 towards winter tires

That doesn't mean too much.  The question should be how much are a set of 4 winter tires, what brand, and size going to cost you.

^^ I agree. I'm not sure why you keep getting sidetracked with trade, payment, and winter tire BS.

In other (more straightforward) words, they will sell the car to you for $26,200 + tax?
