I have no advice but hope you get things resolved soon. I enjoyed the 4 years and 120,000kms I put on my 6-wagon. Maybe I'm happy I gave it back. Of course, I'm getting my DSG flush tomorrow which comes with a free anal lube. Yipee!

You were smart to give it back. You also got 40,000kms more than mine with what I'm assuming was a fully functioning transmission.

Enjoy the royal flush at VW.

How about you just drive it until the transmission blows up, then take it back in?

Then he's out of warranty with no acknowledgment from Mazda that there was anything wrong with the transmission itself before it expired.

I thought the transmission/drivetrain was still under warranty?

Pretty sure he said in another thread that he was getting close to the end of his powertrain warranty. I might be wrong, though.

The only issue I had with mine was the 2-3 shift was a little rough. When cold it was worse but nothing that would shake the car. I did have a part in the shifter replaced as the manual mode wouldn't go down anymore, pretty minor. I was happy that I never had to replace the brakes either. I got 150K out of the brakes on my P5. Actually, the brakes on both those cars are much better than my GTi. How sad is that.

Wow..The brakes were the first repair on this 6..probably because it sat in inventory for months on end. I had to redo the rear pads and discs at pretty low mileage.

I am hopeful this situation has finally been resolved after over a month.
Mazda replaced the PCM and transmission under warranty
I had to pay for the TCM (@$1600).
The TCM is clearly covered under powertrain warranty in the US. Apparently not so in Canada.
I'm not sure now whether to look for a replacement - this vehicle has been on the road for just 5 yrs now.

What's the warranty on the TCM and the transmission?   1 year/24km ?  Is it transferable.

Personally, I'd flog it private sale thru Kijji come this April.  You really don't know what kind of POS they installed.  It will be the cheapest, lowest quality reman that Mazda was able to source.  In addition, if it fails you will be right back into that TCM bullsh*t.

Are Aisin transmssions more prone to reliability issues and problems than other brands ? My 2007 Passat had a 6 spd Aisin unit, and it constantly had hard downshift issues from 5 to 4 when exiting from highways. Dealer could never fix it despite software upgrades.
