I have posted my Honda Pilot for sale on NL Classifieds and Auto Trader, the ads can be seen here:

I am looking for feedback on whether you think the price is reasonable or what I can do to improve the ads?  I just posted them so I am still waiting to see if anyone will respond.  If you are interested you can also check out my blog about why I am selling, all kinds of interesting posts about cars and other cars I have been looking at over the past couple of months, it is www.nlcarblog.blgospot.com.

At first glance it would seem like strong dollars to me for that age/mileage and no leather but I suspect Newfoundland is a unique market because of it's isolation.  Maybe you know best.


Oops....I stand corrected. I just checked Auto trader and you don't seem that far out of line in terms of asking price.

I can't comment on the price as in Alberta you'd add $6K to the asking, so it looks cheap to me.

Did you get the A/C fixed?

No pics of the DVD system?

Place on Kijiji as well.

And knock off the silly sales pitches: "I don't expect this to last long" and the "monster in snow!!!" shtick.   

Make each ad identical.  Keep the ads focused on the car only.  Don't explain why you are selling in the ads and if you want to get action then for GODS sake leave a phone number!!!!

Maybe I was listening to too many salespeople lately!  I'll change the ads today and I have posted on Kijiji.  Everything is working fine on it now.  I will also add a dvd pic.

I'd second AS's Kijiji suggestion. With all due respect to the owners of this site I had far more responses from Kijiji when I was selling my Pathfinder and my daughter's Subaru a few years ago.

Autotrader is for Dealers only.  It's previous owners, Yellow Pages Group, permanently ruined the "private party" ads.  That part is gone for good.

2nd or 3rd the idea to put it on Kijiji.  I was amazed how much traffic I got for the tires I put up there for sale.

Good luck with your sale Hammy.  Fixing the air would have it sell quicker, but that is a personal choice I guess.

Auto trader just booted my ad....... I didnt realize they only had dealer ads.  oh well

Auto trader does have FREE private party Ads.  It's completely dysfunctional though.

Finally getting some bites on the Pilot but had to drop price to 16,900.

Still a helluva lot more than $10,500...
