Topic: Ultimate X Wipers - not compatible with most cars?

This is on someone's behalf and I was not sure where to put this question here or in General Car Talk. If I am in the wrong section I apologize.

A friend of mine was interested in buying the flex frame Ultimate X wipers at Wal-Mart but his wiper arm is not a hook style arm. On the package it just provides installation instructions for hook type connections, thats it! He asked Wal-Mart staff, they told him he needs the adapter pin or something like that. Is this true? Is this wiper good for only hook arms? Is there something he is missing?

Most wipers come with a little baggie of bits to adapt to different wiper arms.  If the cross reference is saying that brand and type fit his car there should be a part to make it so. But, you never know, sometimes things just don't fit.
