New Battery = New Car?
« on: December 23, 2011, 02:39:38 pm »
Recently I changed my battery after 5.5 years even though my old battery was still starting and testing fine. After driving the car I'm glad I did it. The car's responsiveness makes me feel like the car is brand new. It also cranks out the heat like I haven't seen in years.

What would make a new battery do these things compared to an older battery which is still OK?

The battery likely had just enough voltage/current to power the electrical loads.

Perhaps your alternator is weak and on its way out, in which case you'll find out soon enough if your new battery gets weak.

Placebo?
A subwoofer should only be noticed once it has been turned off.
