2010/2011 Acura RDX - Likes/Dislikes?

I don't have one but I'm shopping for a premium CUV now.

I have checked out a few cars but avoided the RDX because of the styling and the antiquated 5spd auto transmission.

I've read reports that the super all wheel drive works well but the turbo 4 sucks a lot of premium gasoline.

I'd expect the car to be quite reliable.

Wife's parents have one. I have limited seat time but my first impressions were:

Flinty ride. I expect this in a sporty car but this was nuts. No way would I live with that ride as an everyday vehicle.

Turbo boost. Horrible power delivery. Nothing Nothing Nothing and then BAM!. Made it tough to drive smooth. Perhaps driver could adapt over time. Honda should contact Volvo on how to make a more linear power delivery with a turbo.

Interior. Too spaceship and swoopy with too many buttons etc.

Brakes seemed good.

They claim it drinks gas like a sailor 12-14L/100km on premium.

My buddy is looking at CUVs for his wife and just drove one of these things, his impressions werent that great:
1) The turbo lag is horrible, what do you expect from an automatic though
2) Thing rode like a empty dump truck
3) Very expensive for the size of vehicle
4)No cargo space

Im with him on the price, $45K for something a little bigger than a Toyota Matrix.....no thanks.

Very briefly looked at one. What the others have said. The Outback 3.6R made more sense and was less expensive.

We were looking at an MDX and crawled in an RDX.  It's nice, but really small inside, more akin to a car with a little extra cargo (not much more...) room.  I would compare it to the BMW X1, which I also think is a tallish hatchback car, not a CUV/SUV thanks to the limited cargo space.

New one coming out next year.  Current one is too rough a ride, bad on fuel and not very practical.

I can buy one out when the lease is done this year, so I'd be getting it for a decent price and I am used to premium fuel, so that isn't an issue.  Seems like a nice vehicle but I guess I had better take one for a drive to see about the ride.  I am looking at the 2010 RDX or a new 2012 Honda CR-V, probably the LX model when it comes out, so I thought it might be nice to have some toys which is why the RDX sounds interesting.
