I missed this write up a few weeks ago, Rrocket.  Knowing how very particular you are about cars -- especially performance cars -- and the impressive list of vehicles you've driven to measure against, I take your enthusiasm toward the RS as very high praise indeed. 

I have also read nothing but absolute rave reviews for the TT RS and have quietly hoped to myself that they drop enough in price in the next 3 years or so, that a used one could be on my shopping list when I swap out the 335.  I've been pretty set on a used 911 for the NEXT car, but the TT RS would serve as a great 4-seasons fun machine with the small rear seat to stuff my kid when needed. 

Feb 2012 issue of Car and Driver just came in the mail this week.  Lightning Lap is back and the praise for the TT RS continues in that article as well.

I just stumbled upon this thread too.

Now I'll have to scope out the TT-RS more closely and get an opportunity to hear the engine live.

Audi has really brought it in terms of design, creating some outstanding sheetmetal and interiors.  The latest TT is sweet, and looks like it's only getting better.

That rear 3/4 view looks more Dodge than Audi.

Hmm. Too close to the A5. I like the look, I just don't think its very TT if that makes sense.


The TT was always the hot sister of the Audi family. The other cars were all guys.
