Yesterday 3PM car goes into limp mode, and stutters when building up boost. Merry Christmas!  ::)

Check your intake hoses, could be the boost pressure blew one up or off.  Does it still build good boost?

It seems like it does but misfires. They replace the coil pack now. Will test.

Of course the issue was a coil... ::)

that's good that it's resolved.

did you just replace one coil or all of them?  how much is the coil for VW 2.0T? it was $75 each for chrysler 3.5 V6, which i thought was very reasonable.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Snowy. This will not be music to your ears but we took a fully loaded Venza out for a spin last week and she didn't like it. "It looks squished" was her response. She also didn't like the "ribbed" dash. Believe it or not she greatly preferred the Highlander V6 Limited (and its fake wood dash) which we also took for a spin.

But yes, our budget is anywhere in the 30K to 45K range but I'm really thinking of doing another import.....you can get some serious machine down there for 40K.

Mrs. Mango lets me buy what I want so I will respect what she wants...although I will give her my stern input. Could not convince her into a wagon, she's set on "sitting up high."

It's very upsetting in that I wish I had this budget back when I imported my WRX. You can get A LOT of car down South for 40K. There's always next time  ;)

Man...for $40K USD, you can get a brand new Lexus RX350.  Or a CPO RX for many thousands less.  A Canadian-made RX for the same money as Venza/Highlander?  No brainer IMO....
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Indeed, the RX stateside is among the tops on the list as it's her favorite car (her mom drives one).

The MDX probably second on list and you can get a 2010 MDX Tech Package with like 14000 miles for 35K. That's a 60K truck up here!

Am I wrong for LOVING the GX 460? It's :censor: BOSS.

The new Grand Cherokee V6 Limited is also nice and we took it out last week too. I would be more concerned about reliability, however, as this will probably be her DD for the next 5+ years.

GX is very nice.  But it's not BOSS.  That would be the Land Cruiser LX570.  Now THAT truck is boss!!

Actually...for the money...a CPO RX450h would be the way to go....

She pines to "sit up high"

It will have to be SUV, unfortunately. 328xi wagon would also have been a golden option.

No worries, The Venza was not my first choice..... it was the logical choice  :) New Highlander for sure and a US imported CPO RX450h. IMO stay away from anything Euro especially used and out of warranty.

I looove sitting up high.  Which is one of the reasons I lurve the 3-series seating.  You can get it nice and high.  (I've never been more comfortable, and felt more natural with an elevated seating position.) Maybe try a 328xi wagon just for fun if you get the chance.
