The odo on my 13 year old Miata is currently at 99,679 km.  It should be hitting 100,000 any day now...

Time to sell it within the next 321 km.    :)

You'll never see a VW or Audi from the early 1990's with a lot of mileage, the odometers either reset or broke long before they accumulate impressive numbers.
My present Audi has been stuck at 232268 for 3 years now.  My previous quattro odometer made it to 279k before quitting.

I have 215000 on my 98 VW.   I'll find out in another 15K or so if that is still a problem.

Occasionally, I'll have a look at the MPI salvage auctions to check out the highest mileage vehicles up for sale.
http://mpi.mb.ca/salvage/salvage_data.asp

This week, the highest confirmed mileage is a '98 Malibu V6 with 448,058 kms.  Number 2 is a '98 Camry V6 taxi @ 436,536 kms. followed by a '98 Grand Cherokee Limited, 6 cyl @ 401,728 km.

Cool site. Let me know if you ever see a Land Rover LR3 in a salvage auction.

In the MK3 VW's the odometer would reset at 300,000. If it says "Total" on the odometer it is on the first go around, if it doesn't it's rolled over 300,000.
