Ya, thats light, and expensive  ;).

Now all I need to do is convince the wifey that the little guy needs a big friend to ride along with him, meaning myself, and I can start shopping.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Of course he needs a buddy. If you need a bike I have a real nice bike to start with.

300 KTM 300 EX/C. Lots of power and quiet.

I'll keep it in mind.  Whats the difference between the X/C and the EX/C.  Lights?

It has changed over the years. This 2004 EX/C has a wide ratio 6 speed transmission and lights and increased fuel capacity. Time for me to retire her with a new one. I was waiting for fuel injection 2 stroke but it always seems to be next year.

Anyhow either a Husaberg TE300, KTM X/CW 300 or Husquvarna 300 ot Gas Gas 300 for me. Decision time.

A pic of just before his first ride, and a video of his first ride.  During the winter, he wanted to start the bike up about twice a week just to play around with it in the garage.  During that time, I went over the controls with him many times so he would be ready for his first 'rip' in the spring.  The video is within a few minutes after hopping on.  He quickly gained confidence and was even ripping through some mud by the end of the ride.

Awesome!  Just awesome!  Brings a tear to my eyes... ;)

Have him move up a smidge on the seat closer to the tank.  And most important, have him squeeze the gas tank with his knees.  This keeps the bike from bobbing left/right and makes it easier to control the bike when bumpy.  He'll crash less often using this method.
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Will do.  However, if this crappy weather keeps up, there won't be any progress.  We had snow the other day, the poor little guy was almost in tears.

No worries.  Snow is similar to riding on sand or mud!!   ;D  Will be perfect conditions to practice squeezing the tank.  BTW, squeezing the tank will prevent arm pump and upper body fatigue.
