When to Krown...
« on: November 05, 2011, 10:05:24 am »
My new car has yet to be Krown'd, but I'm unsure if now is too cold outside for the product to really seep in. I could wait until the spring, but that offers a chance for rust to start but allow the product to seep in.

I do a lot of highway driving, and the car is going to get hammered with salt and de-icing stuff.

No question..... I would get it done.

Way too much is made of getting it done in warm weather. The stuff is quite thin when applied. The Krown will run into crevices pretty good even at these temperatures. I suspect that Known encourages the product being applied in warm weather in great part to spread the business they get into the summer months rather than have a fall panic. They want to make money 6 months a year as opposed to 2 months a year.

Even in days like this a car park in the sun will warm up pretty nicely.

The difference will be minor and besides it is way better than not getting it done.

The father-in-law backed into my wife's van with his Chevy half ton almost 2 weeks ago when she was visiting the farm.  The rear bumper was cracked and had a hole in one corner.  The tailgate took the brunt of it, getting pushed back at least 9 inches at the point of impact.  Apparently he was in a hurry.  He paid for the van to get fixed and we got it back Friday from the body repair shop.  It has a new tailgate and new bumper cover.  I want to have the van Krowned before the snow flies, but do I need to wait any length of time given the fresh paint?

I'll be spraying mine next weekend or the one after that. I've sometimes sprayed it on when it was near freezing. It flows!

Make sure you ask them to use the T-40 (tan) and not the T-32 (red).
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A car has to do more than just perform; it has to stir your soul!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.
